A major Chester city centre road has now been closed in both directions due to emergency roadworks.
Previously we reported that Cheshire West and Chester Council was warning motorists to "expect long delays" on Grosvenor Street, near the junction with Bridge Street, Lower Bridge Street and Pepper Street, as the westbound side of the road had been closed.
SP Energy Network is behind the emergency works, and follows work carried out as a result of an unexpected power cut which affected many Chester city centre restaurants in the CH1 postcode area on Sunday evening between 4.50pm and 6.20pm.

The power cut also saw delays and disruption at Chester Railway Station at the same time, affecting several train services.
An update on Tuesday, March 19 now says Grosvenor Street is closed in both directions between the Bridge Street junction and Grosvenor Roundabout.
It is estimated the road will be reopened on Saturday evening.
