A FLOOD warning remains in place for the River Dee catchment area including low lying land and roads around Chester after the effects of Storm Babet.
The UK Government Flood Warning Information Service listed two flood alerts for areas within Cheshire West at the beginning of the week.
The River Dee catchment area from Whitchurch to Chester and the River Gowy catchment area - which included Ellesmere Port and Frodsham - were both identified as locations where flooding was 'possible'.
The River Gowy alert has since been removed, but the River Dee catchment alert remains in place.
The government website states: "River levels remain high on the River Dee as a result of heavy rainfall from storm Babet.
"Areas most at risk include low lying land and roads around the River Dee at Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington. Townfield lane is currently cut off."
The flood alert area covers Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington.
The Met Office forecasts a relatively dry end to the week, with some cloud and a low percentage chance of rain across today (Thursday, October 26) and tomorrow. However, there is an 80 per cent chance of rain this weekend between 1am and 6am on Sunday morning, with the heaviest showers expected between 1am and 3am.
Cheshire West and Chester Council have said that work is ongoing between their staff and partner organisations as the borough looks to recover from the impact of last week's storm.
