A FURTHER 26 Covid patient deaths have been recorded by Cheshire hospitals in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

NHS England data released this afternoon shows that the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust registered eleven of those deaths.

The deaths sadly occurred between January 27 and February 1,

Elsewhere in the county, East Cheshire (2), Mid Cheshire (9) and Warrington & Halton (4) hospital trusts all recorded additional deaths in the latest one-day period.

The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:

  • Countess of Chester: 518
  • East Cheshire: 262
  • Mid Cheshire: 431
  • Warrington and Halton: 410
  • Total: 1,623

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England further 707 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 73,619.

Patients were aged between 30 and 101 years-old.

All except 21 – aged 46 to 92 years-old – had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 21 October 2020 to 2 February 2021.

Their families have been informed.
