Mark Warburton is under no doubt as to the magnitude of the task when QPR host West Bromwich Albion tomorrow but believes his side’s impressive league form can help steer them to another victory.

QPR, who sit in fifth, will be hoping to make it five wins in a row in the league when they host the Baggies at Loftus Road on Saturday.

The R’s may have beaten London rivals Millwall last week to make it four wins from four in the league, but they are coming up against a West Brom side who are yet to taste defeat in the Championship this season.

That said, QPR are on the better run of form having picked up 12 points from their last four fixtures, while West Brom have collected nine from their last five, but Warburton knows his side will have to be at their very best to keep the Baggies at bay.

“We are in a good place, but we face a formidable test in West Brom and we will have to be at it on Saturday,” said the QPR boss.

“We are expecting a very tough challenge. They have a squad full of quality. We know what we face and are full of respect for what we face, but we’re not fearful. We are very respectful, and we have trained well and analysed well.

“There is no doubt it will be a formidable challenge, but we are on a good run of form and we go into this game full of confidence and keen to deliver a performance in front of our fans.”

Last August, QPR suffered a humiliating 7-1 defeat to West Brom, a result that former manager Steve McClaren called unacceptable.

A lot has changed at the club since that heavy defeat, with Warburton replacing McClaren as permanent manager in May this year.

And Warburton did not hesitate to praise his players and coaching staff for the improvements made.

“I can’t talk highly enough of my backroom team. John Eustace and Neil Banfield are the main football coaches, and Gavin works tirelessly” added Warburton.

“John has been superb. He works so hard and is a student of the game. He was obviously a top-level player and he brings that through but there is an evident desire to keep moving forward in the game.

“I have no doubt he will be a top manager and right now I am delighted he is here to work with us. I can’t talk highly enough about him.”

“Likewise, for Neil, who has come from the Arsenal environment. He has brought a winning mentality, a desire to train with the right intensity every day and set the right standards. Between Neil, John and Gavin we have got a first-class team”.

“The boys have done exceptionally well and all credit to them. They have done so well to get four on the spin but it’s irrelevant now. It’s all about the next game and their attitude has been first class.”
