After a three year hiatus due to Covid restrictions, the Romans return with two games this weekend.
The Chester Romans American Football Team will celebrating a return to competitive games with the senior team welcoming Nottingham Caesars and the junior team opening their season away at Newcastle.
The pandemic has meant that it is the first competitive season for the Romans since 2019, and they say that they are looking for a successful year on all fronts, with the ultimate goal to achieve a National Championship and promotion to the Premiership.
Nathan Sharrocks, Chester Romans' Media Officer, said: "Our preseason has been very successful, with impressive showings against the Lancashire Wolverines and the Premiership Merseyside Nighthawks.
"We’re hoping to continue this form as we host an equally tough opposition at the Cheshire County Sports Club this weekend."
Chester Romans vs. Nottingham Caesars will kick off at 2pm at the Cheshire County Sports Club, Mannings Lane, Chester, CH2 4EU and entry is free.
