Cheshire Phoenix's Teddy Okereafor and Ben Mockford are set to represent Great Britain at FIBA's 2023 World Cup Qualifiers at the end of this month.

The two players have both been involved with the GB set up for nearly eight years and both joined Cheshire Phoenix from Bristol Flyers at the start of this season.

Team Captain, Teddy Okereafor said: "I've been playing alongside Ben last year and for the last few years with GB so the chemistry is good.

"I'm a point guard and he's a high volume shooter so I [always] know when he needs the ball."

Similarly, Ben Mockford highlighted the experience and togetherness of the GB squad as key component in their success.

"We have great momentum with our guys. We have a great core group who have been in it for the last however many years and I think that's one of our biggest strengths.

"We've all grown as a team, we've all got more experience."

Great Britain will be facing Belarus on the 25 and 28 of February. Whilst neither is underestimating their opponents, both are confident that they can continue the recent form they've shown at club level on the national stage.

"Belarus are a tough team, I know they're not a name, like Greece and Turkey but they're just as good. They beat Turkey, so it's going to be two very tough games but we believe in ourselves and we believe we can win," said Mockford.

His teammate stated that with the qualifying group still wide open, it was up to them to dictate where they would finish.

Okereafor said: "It's in our hands and I think that we can get two wins."
