CHESTER FC Women are looking for success on and off the pitch this weekend.

This Sunday sees the squad take on the Salford City Lionesses in the Vitality Women's FA Cup second qualifying round, in what is tipped to be a competitive clash.

The Blues are also looking to beat their attendance record in the Sunday fixture – perhaps as a sporting treat for those who will be fresh from finishing the MBNA Chester Marathon on Sunday, October 3.

The match takes place at the Deva Stadium that day, kick-off 2pm, with entry just £3 for adults, £1 concessions.

Chester FC Women usually play their games at Ellesmere Port Sports Village, but this Sunday will be a chance for them to break their match-day attendance record of 174 as they play at Chester FC's ground off Bumpers Lane.

  • In other Chester FC news, the Senior Blues will be meeting on Friday, October 1 at 10.30am at the Blues Bar at the Deva Stadium. Scheduled guest speakers are deputy Club Chairman and CEO of the Community Trust Jim Green, who will give an update on progress of the King George V development, and joint managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley. New members welcome, all proceeds to towards the Senior Blues Youth Foundation.
