CONNAH'S QUAY NOMADS have agreed contract extensions with Danny Holmes and Jay Owen.

Defender Holmes has spent the past two seasons with Nomads after signing in May 2018, making his debut against Shakhtyor Soligorsk in the Europa League.

Holmes, who has played in the Football League for Tranmere Rovers and Newport County, has made 82 starts in all competitions for Nomads, scoring his first goal for the club against Airbus earlier this season.

Having signed a new two-year deal with Cymru Premier champions Nomads, Holmes said: “I’m delighted to re-sign with the club - I’ve had a brilliant two years and I can’t wait to get back to work with the lads and staff and strive for more silverware.”

Midfielder Owen arrived at the Deeside Stadium in May, 2016 as one of Andy Morrison's first signings, following the manager from Airbus.

Owen has made 146 starts in all competitions for Nomads, winning the Welsh Cup and League Cup alongside this season's top-flight title.

After penning a one-year extension, Owen said: “I’m really happy to be signing for a fifth season at the club and looking forward to continuing the success we have had during my time here."

Nomads boss Morrison was glad to see the duo join Craig Curran, Jamie Insall and Aeron Edwards in signing up for next term.

“I am delighted to get two of our senior players signed up for the forthcoming season," he said. "Both players are right at the top of their game and have been a pleasure to work with - they both thoroughly deserve their new deals.”
