Sion Tudor Jones steps down as boss of Corwen

Tudor Jones was appointed as the permanent replacement for Danny Jellicoe in November after Nick Jones had taken caretaker charge of the Cymru North new boys.

After the 2019/20 campaign was brought to an abrupt end by the coronavirus crisis, Tudor Jones has made the decisions to step away from the War Memorial Ground.

"It is with regret that I have decided to step down as manager of Corwen," said Tudor Jones. "Although a difficult one, it is the right decision for me personally as I have struggled for a long time to keep a healthy balance between managing and family commitments.

"When I took over in November, I was aware of the task ahead but I’d like to think I gave the club the commitment and hard work it truly deserves.

"It’s a shame we couldn’t complete the season as I felt we were improving both on and off the pitch, however, I appreciate and respect the FAW’s decision to void the season under the current circumstances.

"I’d like to thank all the players and management team for adapting to my way of managing and also for their hard work and commitment during my short spell at the club.

"I think I speak on behalf of them all in thanking those who have supported the club both home and away throughout the season.

"Lastly, I’d like to thank the committee. They gave me the opportunity to manage the club and they have been supportive throughout. I hope the people continuously driving the club forward behind the scenes are rewarded for all their hard work.

"I wish the club all the very best for the future."

A statement from the club, which was confirmed as finishing in the relegation zone on a point-per-game basis, added: "Although the club is disappointed to see Sion go we would like to thank him for his hard work during his time in the role and we would like to wish him all the best in the future.

"An announcement regarding Sion's replacement will be made in due course."
