Chester Boughton Hall’s bowling attack will look to back up the good recent work of their batsmen when they host Bramhall on Saturday.

The Filkins Lane outfit saw both Cheshire skipper Rick Moore (132) and Lancashire academy starlet Jamie Crawley (110 not out) hit centuries at Marple last week in Hall’s 227 for two.

However, it proved in vain as Marple reached 239 for four, with only captain Will Owen (2-31 off 12 overs) making any real inroads into the batting line-up, as Mark Bennett struck an unbeaten 101.

“Losing to Marple last week was tough to take. Rick Moore and Jamie Crawley’s tons gave us a great position and I was happy with our declaration,” Owen explained.

"Once we had the opposition on 80-4, we felt that one more wicket would open the door for a win but they batted really well to get the win. The ball didn’t spin for us as much as we thought it would and it was one of those things.

“We move on to play Bramhall at home - the halfway point of the season. This is a great chance to get back to winning ways and we’ll be working hard it find the right formula."
