The Chester and District Sunday Football League held its annual presentation evening at The Centurion in Vicars Cross.

After a dramatic finish to a season, both Section A and Section B titles were decided on goal difference for the first time in over 20 years.

Reigning champions, Waggon and Horses, retained the Section A title from season-long leaders Spital Vaults, who were in their first season in the top flight.

Section B also went down to the wire, with two new Ellesmere Port clubs battling it out for the title. Castrol Social just pipped CDS Flooring Studio to the title, also on goal difference.

Castrol Social also collected the Giant Killers Trophy for reaching the semi-final of the Sunday League Cup, losing to eventual winners, Westminster.

Both titles were secured on the last week of the season.

Jamie Easton of The Cat was top scorer in Concorde Trophies Section A with professional boxer Paul Butler of CDS Flooring top scoring in Section B, both with over 30 goals in all competitions.

The league’s Annual General Meeting takes place on Thursday June 21. Applications from new clubs wishing to join the league are still being accepted. Please ring the League Secretary on 07762 061074.
