YOUNG geographers at an Ellesmere Port school have been out and about exploring their local area.
Year 1 pupils of Childer Thornton Primary School visited Mike Davies of Holme Farm, Village Vets and the local allotments.
They then went on to meet local villagers Irene Davies and Les Peers, who have lived in Childer Thornton since the 1930s and attended Childer Thornton Primary School as youngsters.
The children have also studied local history and were keen to find out about school and village life in days gone by.
In science, the children have recently planted flowers into hanging baskets.
During the walk, they proudly delivered their creations and handwritten letters to those mentioned, as a thank you for being an important part of the community.
Class teacher, Mrs Jennifer Williams, would like to thank Premier Plants of Ledsham for the plant donations and members of the community who spent time with the children.
