VAUXHALL Motors’ season gets underway on Saturday when they host Kendal Town at the VanEupen Arena, writes Ethan Hoijord.

The Cumbrian visitors were relegated from the Northern Premier League Division One West last time out as they failed to register a win in their last four games.

However, despite the relegation and the 9-0 defeat to Carlisle United this summer there is plenty to be optimistic about for Marshall’s side as they come into this fixture on the back of a 5-2 win against Workington.

Steve Yawson netted twice in the victory against Workington, the 23-year-old former Morecambe and Prescot Cables defender being one of the visitors one’s to watch.

The hosts have had a promising pre-season themselves with great wins against Cammell Lairds and Widnes.

Mick McGraa’s recent debutant forward Lewis Buckley who performed well against Lairds.

Vauxhall Motors’ will also be in FA Cup action on August 6 against Whitchurch Alport, but a tough test stands in the way too on Thursday, August 4, away to Lower Breck,
