A YOUTH football team’s players are dressed to impress after winning a full team kit through E.ON’s Power Kicks competition.

The Chester-based under 13 footballers of Vicars Cross Dynamos are now proudly wearing their new team kit for their matches in the Eastham and District Junior and Mini Soccer Saturday League.

Clare Hammersley, whose 12-year old son Charlie joined the Dynamos this season, entered the competition on behalf of the team.

She said: “The kit has come as a real boost for the boys. They already have a very good spirit with a real focus on teamwork and supporting each other. The season is going well for them, and they’re really keen to get on and test out the new kit.

“Vicars Cross Dynamos has a long history and is well established in our community, and these under 13 players will hopefully come to play their part in keeping the club going long into the future. It’s an FA Charter Standard club which prides itself on providing organised football training and competitive games for local boys. Our aim is to encourage these youngsters’ passion for the beautiful game.”

Michael Lewis, chief executive of E.ON, said: “I hope this new kit brings the Vicars Cross Dynamos players luck in their remaining matches this season!

“We love running initiatives like this because just as we’re helping our customers in the way they need it most - helping them to only use the energy they need, when they need it, we try to work in a similar way in our communities, providing the support to local groups that they tell us they need.”
