AN easyJet flight travelling from Manchester Airport to Hamburg declared an emergency.
Flight U22195 had departed Manchester yesterday evening, September 23, and was en route to Hamburg when the crew issued a general emergency call.
The Airbus A320 was later seen squawking 7700, the international transponder code used by aircraft to signal a general emergency.
Flight-tracking data showed the plane turning around over eastern England before heading back towards Manchester Airport.
According to aviation incident tracker FlightEmergency, the emergency declaration followed reports of fumes on board the aircraft.
Data from Flightradar24 shows the flight departed Manchester at 7.31 pm, around 76 minutes behind schedule.
The reason for the fumes has not yet been confirmed, and easyJet had not publicly commented on the incident at the time of writing.
