Cheshire Police carries out Operation Decisive in Blacon

Officers from the force were in Chester as part of Operation Decisive, with a number of proactive policing activities carried out in Blacon as part of a day of action tackling drug-related offences, traffic offences and anti-social behaviour.

The day was supported by officers from Chester Beat Team, Chester Proactive Team, Western Problem Solving Team, Force Intelligence Bureau, firearms officers, Roads Crime Unit, Dogs Unit, Bike Unit, and Force Control Centre, plus British Transport Police (BTP) County Lines Team and BTP ViAWG Team.

Inspector James Wilson praised the operation and said that residents are to report any concerns over issues to the police.

He said: “This has been a fantastic day of action, including a number of warrants, closure orders, arrests, community engagement, proactive patrols and other activities, supported by Cheshire Constabulary officers in Chester, as well as British Transport Police.

“This is just a small snapshot of the policing tactics we use to target criminals day-in, day out.

“This sends a stark warning to those who choose to commit crime that criminal behaviour will not be tolerated. You will not go unnoticed and action will be taken against you.

“We hope this also sends a message to local residents that we are committed to tackling drug-related and anti-social behaviour in the area.

The day produced the following results:

• Warrants were carried out at addresses in Penmon Close, Sylvan Mews, Masefield Drive, Station View, Highfield Close, and Hatton Road in relation to suspected drugs offences.
• Closure orders were granted for addresses in Sylvan Mews, Masefield Drive, Rose Terrace, Western Avenue, Celebration Drive, and Canberra Way.
• A total of six Community Protection Warnings were issued.
• One car was seized after a driver was stopped for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
• 11 Motor Traffic Offence Reports were issues.
• One vehicle was stopped for having an insecure load.
• One driver was reported for summons after driving in excess of 100 mph.
• Two e-scooters were seized.
• The Sex Offender Management Unit carried out five offender visits.
• Community engagement was carried out in Greyhound Retail Park and The Parade, Blacon.
• Three arrests were made, including for possession with intent to supply class A drugs, drug driving and domestic assault. A Community Resolution Order was issued for possession of ketamine.
• Proactive patrols were carried out across Blacon, Greyhound Retail Park, Upton, Garden Quarter and Chester city centre.
