McVitie’s to release new Jaffa Elf in 2026 Christmas range

McVitie’s has unveiled the Jaffa Elf, a new addition to its Christmas range.

The mischievous-looking snack features the classic Jaffa Cake combination of dark chocolate and orange jelly, shaped like a festive elf.

The festive-themed cake will go on sale in all major UK supermarkets from September, at £1.

McVitie's new Jaffa Cake is "the stuff of nightmares"

McVitie's new Jaffa Elf has divided opinions.

Some fans have welcomed the new treat, while others have been less enthusiastic about its appearance.

One social media user said: "It’s like the stuff of nightmares, why does its face look like that?"

Others were more positive, with one fan commenting: "Omg more Jaffa Cakey foods bring it on."

McVitie’s has been approached for comment.

McVitie's 2026 Christmas range

The Jaffa Elf joins other festive favourites in McVitie’s Christmas line-up.

These include the returning Jaffa Tree, Jaffa Pole, and a new Spiced Orange flavour.

The Jaffa Tree, priced at £3, includes three Jaffa Cake Snack Packs and three Jonuts in a Christmas tree-shaped box.

It will be available from September in Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons, Co-Op, Ocado, TJ Morris, Poundland, Spar, and Nisa.

The Jaffa Pole, containing 40 Jaffa Cakes, will also return this year.

It will be sold in Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Waitrose, Co-Op, Iceland, Home Bargains, and Poundland for £4.

The history of McVitie's Jaffa Cakes

McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes were first created in 1927 by the British biscuit manufacturer.

They were named after Jaffa oranges from the Middle East, which inspired the original jelly centre.
