Eddisbury Artists mark 30 years at their home in Frodsham

The Eddisbury Artists are marking 30 years at their home in Frodsham with a new exhibition titled Amazing Nature, running at Castle Park Arts Centre from Tuesday, May 19, to Saturday, June 27.

The group consists of 17 artists from the North West of Cheshire who meet regularly to draw, paint, and exhibit together.

Sam Robson, 61, a Royal Society prize-winning artist from Weaverham, said: "This exhibition feels even more special as it also coincides with Castle Park Arts Centre’s 40th anniversary.

"Castle Park Arts Centre has been a long-standing, loyal supporter of our group’s artistic efforts – sharing our commitment to creativity, artistic expression, and community engagement.

"It feels especially fitting to present our latest exhibition there at such a significant milestone for both organisations."

Eddisbury Artists originally met in a room behind the Post Office in Frodsham before relocating to the arts centre in 1996.

Since then, the group has taken part in weekly activities to develop their skills, including outdoor painting and sketching during the summer and indoor sessions during the winter.

Each artist works in their own style, contributing to the group’s diversity and artistic exchange.

Their past projects include the 800th anniversary of Frodsham poster, produced and organised by the Frodsham and District History Society in collaboration with the Frodsham & District Photographic Society, and featuring artwork by members of the group.

Ms Robson, who is in remission from Hodgkin lymphoma and was featured on the She Inspires Impact Leader List 2026, said: "Inspiration comes from everywhere but, for this exhibition, we’ve focused on ‘Amazing Nature,’ which Cheshire is certainly blessed with.

"From flowering plants to birdlife, insects to mammals, our members have explored a wide range of natural subjects – each bringing a distinctive perspective shaped by their own interests and experiences.

"We hope the exhibition encourages visitors to take a stroll around the extensive parkland grounds surrounding the centre and to engage further with the forthcoming events programme as it continues its 40th celebrations."

The exhibition is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, starting May 19.
