ELLESMERE Port Sports Village had a very special visitor on Sunday as Oscar-nominated actor Delroy Lindo watched on from courtside.
The 73-year-old British-born American actor, who is known for films including Malcolm X , Da 5 Bloods and Sinners visited the Phoenix’s home court as they took on Leicester Riders.
The actor’s son, Damiri Lindo, is an explosive forward for Cheshire Phoenix, having joined at the beginning of the 2025/26 season on his first professional contract after graduating from Queens College.

It was and enjoyable evening for both father and son, as the Phoenix ran out 98-77 winners over Leicester Riders.
Cheshire Phoenix shared the news of Delroy Lindo’s visit on social media.
The club said: “A pleasure to have @theauthenticdelroylindo courtside at the EPSV yesterday.”
