The proposal, submitted by the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, seeks permission to construct a single-storey greenkeeper briefing facility within its existing maintenance compound.

The application was officially received on February 25 and validated on March 24.
The application has an expiry date of May 19, by which time the decision is expected to be made.
As part of the proposal, the golf club intends to enhance its greenkeeper facilities to boost productivity, improving the day-to-day running of the golf course and the hosting of major championships, such as The Open and Amateur Championship.
The proposed new building will be a modern, energy-efficient, purpose-built welfare facility for the greenkeepers.
It includes separate male and female bathroom, changing, and wash facilities, ensuring compliance with workplace standards and equality requirements.
The facility will also have a central canteen and welfare room that can accommodate the entire greens team.
This area is also expected to double as a training and education space for internal and external seminars.
The proposed development is in line with local and national planning policies, such as the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).
The NPPF supports the growth of rural businesses and the improvement of outdoor sporting assets as part of promoting healthy and active communities.
The upgrades will reportedly allow for improved facilities, boosting the productivity of the golf course's daily operations and its capacity to host local and national championships.
Located on the west side of the Wirral Peninsula, on the coast between Hoylake and West Kirby, the golf club’s site is generally hidden from view, bordered by residential properties to the east, north, and south.
The proposed development has been designed to be in harmony with its surroundings, using robust materials that reflect the character and heritage of the Royal Liverpool Golf Club and the neighbouring landscape.
These improvements align with Sport England's Planning for Sport guidelines and the Wirral Local Plan, which is scheduled to guide development in the area until 2028.
