ENTREPRENEURS aged up to 30 who have been running a business in Chester for at least a year are being encouraged to apply for a prestigious local award.
The Chester Business Club’s Young Business Person Awards are returning for their second year in 2026, celebrating the ambition, innovation and impact of the city’s rising business talent.
One of the headline categories recognises a Young Entrepreneur who has successfully led a business in Chester for a minimum of 12 months.
Last year this award was open to those aged 25 and under, but the criteria has been changed to further widen access.
Keren Isaiah won last year’s award for her vending machine business, Kairos Unlimited.
The awards were originally created by Nick Owens, founder of Magnify PR and a member of the Chester Business Club’s Executive Council.

“Anyone aged up to 30 and who has been running a business is welcome to apply, and I’d encourage local young business people to go for it.”
In addition to recognising young entrepreneurs, the awards also include The Vision Award, which is open to students aged 18 and under who live in or attend school or college within the CH1-CH4 postcode areas.
The category highlights young people whose ambition and innovation are driving economic or social impact in Chester and beyond.
Sponsors confirmed for 2026 so far include Magnify PR, DEESURVEYS and Connectus Business Solutions. Their backing will help ensure the continued growth and influence of the initiative.
Winners will receive a trophy, Chester BID vouchers worth up to £500 to spend in the city, as well as mentoring and support from members of the Chester Business Club. Shortlisted finalists will also receive prizes.

Applications must be submitted online by 29 May 2026. Shortlisted finalists will be announced in June and invited, along with a guest, to attend the awards ceremony in July, where the winners will be revealed.
