Libraries across Cheshire West and Chester are celebrating Libraries Week with an environmentally conscious theme.
The national celebration of public libraries takes place between Monday, October 7 and Sunday, October 13, with the theme "Every Library Is A Green Library".
Councillor Lisa Denson, the council’s cabinet member for fairer futures, said: "Each library will have a coffee morning or afternoon tea to celebrate.
"Twelve libraries are holding drop-in 'Green Teas' with advisors available to chat and give tips on how to save energy/water."
The library service is working with partners including React Now - the Cheshire West and Chester Council Climate Change Team, Citizen's Advice, Groundwork, Energy Projects Plus and Severn Trent Water.
There will also be a chance to have your favourite but worn clothing repaired or learn how to do it yourself with the "Pop-up Patchers" group.
Councillor Denson added: "But it’s not just about the environment. Cheshire West Libraries will be hosting several events and shows too.
"There is bound to be something for everyone this Libraries Week."
For example, "Weeping Bank" is a haunting evening of ghost stories which has been a sold-out smash elsewhere.
It is recommended as not for those of a nervous disposition or those 15-years-old or younger.
For booklovers, there is a treat in store, with two authors visiting libraries.
Jane Costello, the Sunday Times bestselling author of 15 books, will be visiting.
Her new novel, It's Getting Hot In Here, marks a long-awaited return to romantic comedy.
Mary Wood (who also writes as Maggie Mason) will have a one-off afternoon event at Helsby Library.
Finally, for music lovers, Lara Deutsch will be collaborating with the guitarist Adam Cicchillitti on Wanderlust, a programme evoking musical portraits of 20th-century life around the world.
For all events being held in Cheshire West Libraries, see Library events on Cheshire West and Chester Council website.
There are 22 libraries across Cheshire West and Chester, a Mobile Library and Home Library Service.
It is free to join and books can be borrowed from and returned to any library.
You can access computers and wi-fi for free or join in with a wide range of events and activities for all ages.
