POLICE investigating reports of sexual assaults in a Cheshire town have charged a man in relation to the incidents.

Mohamed Alhadi, of Halton Brook Avenue, Runcorn, was arrested at about 3.15pm on Wednesday, May 8.

The 25-year-old has since been charged with common assault and two counts of insighting a child aged 13-15 to engage in sexual activity.

Alhadi appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court on Friday, May 10 and has been remanded in custody to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court on Monday, May 13.

The charges relate to incidents that occurred between 2.40pm and 3.15pm on Tuesday, May 7, on the City Fields footpath near to Burger King in Runcorn and on Halton Brook Avenue, Runcorn.

Police Constable Haddon Hunter, of Runcorn Local Policing Unit, said: "We understand these incidents will have caused considerable concern within the local community.

"I’d urge anyone with any concerns or information relating to these incidents to contact us on 101 or via www.cheshire.police.uk//tell-us quoting IML1817663."
