PROGRESS of the new Whitchurch Swimming Centre has been marked from the sky in a special new video released by Shropshire Council.
Work on the new centre, which will have a new pool plus gym, lifestyle and exercise facilities, is continuing at pace with a steel frame in place and a possible location of the new pool.
The drone footage takes viewers on a full 360-degree journey around the building before dipping into a ground-level view of the new building.
There is still a year to go before the first swimmers will be splashing about in the water or pumping iron at the gym, with opening expected in summer 2025.
A Shropshire Council spokesman said: “Work on the new Whitchurch swimming and fitness centre is progressing well – as the drone footage shows.
“The foundations are now complete and our contractor Pellikaan is making good progress installing the steel frame.
“The centre is on track to open in summer 2025.”
