A NUMBER of defendants were dealt with by Wrexham Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Kian Davies, aged 20 and of Broxton Road in Wrexham, was sentenced for using threatening/abusive/ insulting words or behaviour, which took place on February 13 in Wrexham. The court handed down a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay £85 costs, as well as a £26 victim surcharge.

Edwin Roberts, aged 75 and of Victoria Avenue, Johnstown, was sentenced for being drunk and disorderly in on March 9 at Town Hill in Wrexham. The court fined him £80 and ordered him to pay £135 costs.

Stefan Davies, aged 34 and of Galaxy Grove in Brynteg, was sentenced for use threatening/abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, which happened on April 7 at Brook Street in Wrexham. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £85 costs, as well as a £40 victim surcharge.

Timothy Owen, aged 38 and of The Grove in Marchwiel, was sentenced for disclosing a private sexual image of another person without their consent with the intention of causing them distress. He received a 12 week term of imprisonment, suspended for 12 months and must undertake 50 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay costs of £85 and a £154 victim surcharge.

Jason Haynes, aged 41 and of City Road in Chester, was sentenced for two counts of harassment by breaching a restraining order. Both offences took place in March this year in Acrefair. He was jailed for a total of eight weeks after the court concluded he "has a flagrant disregard for court orders."

He received a 12 month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a £26 victim surcharge, as well as £85 costs.

Barry Hughes, aged 53 and of Foxes Close in Mancot, was sentenced for harassment without violence - in that between January 1, 2023 and August 30, 2023, at Foxes Close, he pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of Vanessa Rato and which you knew or ought to have known amounted to the harassment of her.

The charge stated he "played loud music at all times of the day and night to disturb the victim," as well as "being abusive to her, spitting at the victim`s property" and "putting broken glass in her back garden."

He received a 12 month community order with up to 10 days of rehabilitation activity and 50 hours of unpaid work. A restraining order was put in place for two years. The defendant must pay a £114 victim surcharge and £650 costs.

Natalie Burke, aged 47 and of Rhosrobin Road in New Rhosrobin, was sentenced for drink-driving - which took place at Mold Road in Gwersyllt on November 26, 2023. She was banned from driving for 12 months and must pay a £300 fine. The court also ordered costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £120.
