A multi-vehicle incident is causing long delays on the M53 motorway in Ellesmere Port today (Monday, April 22).
The collision has been reported in the roadworks area on the southbound carriageway between Junctions 9 (Station Road, Ellesmere Port) and 10 (Cheshire Oaks/Little Stanney).
One lane has been closed due to it being blocked.
Delays of 50 minutes are being reported on National Highways: North West, with congestion as far back as Junction 5 (Eastham) according to traffic monitoring service Inrix.
Motorists are urged to allow for delays and seek alternate routes if possible.
