CALM Coffee, a new wellbeing hub supporting mental and emotional health, has opened its doors.

The new venue is inside the Chester Bluecoat Building on Upper Northgate Street, offering free support with a diverse range of health, holistic and therapeutic services.

Calm Coffee Group CIC has been boosting people’s wellbeing from its current location in Blacon for some time, through a range of support services aimed at all ages.

As demand grows, specifically in and around Chester, the team at Calm Coffee is thrilled to announce the extension of its reach by opening at this new location in the historic Bluecoat building.

Providing a safe and welcoming space, this new sanctuary will be offering free support through its mental and emotional wellbeing services.

However, Calm Coffee has already transformed the lives of many including Jane, the new wellbeing coordinator for the Chester hub.

Jane first set foot in Calm Coffee, Blacon, over two years ago.

She had been struggling in a number of areas in her life, including her mental health, and was keen to see if she could benefit from the NHS wellbeing program that Calm Coffee were running at the time.

Jane said: “I was so nervous but as soon as I stepped through the door and spoke to one of the team they put me completely at ease. I just knew that I was in a safe environment and would get the support I needed.”

Two years on and Jane will now be offering the same vital support that she received to those who need it in the Chester hub. Jane continues: “To be given an opportunity to help other people struggling, just as I was, is such an honour.”

Visitors to Calm Coffee can expect a warm welcome from Jane and the team who will provide a variety of services aimed at supporting their journey to wellness.

Open from 9am to 2pm Monday to Friday, Calm Coffee offers everything from therapeutic sessions and SEND parent/carer wellbeing drop-in sessions to craft and book clubs, weekly yoga classes, coffee mornings and holistic workshops.

The new location is designed to be a haven where individuals can find solace and strength.

Mike Jenkins, CEO of The Chester Bluecoat Charity, said: “We have been in discussions with Calm Coffee for some time and are absolutely delighted to see this fantastic opportunity come to fruition.

"The Chester Bluecoat Building is fast becoming a go-to destination for third sector organisations that are really making a difference. Our charitable mission has always been to support those in need in Chester and surrounding areas and this wellbeing hub will enable more people to gain access to the vital services that they need.”
