A NEW bubble tea café is set to open in Chester.

Family-run bubble tea and waffle coffee shop, Bo and Bean is nearing completion on Watergate Street in the city centre.

The new shop will be the second location for the business after their Stoke-on-Trent shop opened around three years ago.

Bubble tea, for the uninitiated, is a sweet tea drink filled with chewy tapioca ball or ‘boba’ which originated in Taiwan during the 1980s before becoming popular in the US from the 1990s onwards.

Bo and Bean say of their signature drinks: “All of our bubble teas come with freshly cooked tapioca every day and other toppings can be added, such as a wide range of popping bubble and jellies, egg or chocolate pudding, or our delicious cheesecake topping!

“Most of our bubble tea drinks can also be made hot or cold and you can customise the sugar level, in case you want your drink with low sugar or extra sweet.”

Bo and Bean offer a multitude of different flavours, including frequently changing specials like ‘Popcorn and Lotus Cheesecake’, and coffee and fruit flavoured variations.

There are also a range of teas, coffees and hot chocolates on offer and treats for those visiting with their furry friends.

The coffee shop offers a range of freshly baked waffles, also with a wide range of toppings.

The team behind Bo and Bean have been documenting the new coffee shop’s progress on social media, and are aiming to open in early May.
