A POPULAR department store in a Cheshire town has confirmed it will be closing its doors.
TJ Hughes has been in Widnes for more than a decade.
The store in Chester closed in 2011.
It is located outside Widnes Market and has been a popular shopping spot for many residents for years.
Anything and everything can be found there, from home appliances, to women’s clothing, to men’s clothing, to garden and outdoor furniture.
But today, Thursday, it has been confirmed to the Runcorn and Widnes World that the store will be closing ‘around June’ time.
The discount store company was founded in Liverpool back in 1912.
It grew to become a national chain, but in 2011, the number of TJ Hughes stores was reduced to just six locations, including Widnes, after it entered administration.
