A LANE in a village on the outskirts of Chester is likely to be cut off today by flood water, the Environment Agency has confirmed.
Levels on the River Dee will remain high but steady all day today (Thursday, April 11) and through to tomorrow, with Townfield Lane in Farndon likely to be cut off throughout today.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Dee, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around low lying land and roads around the River Dee at Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington.
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said: "Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
"Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
"We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert/warning if necessary."
The flood alert area for the River Dee in England covers areas around Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington.
