A ROAD in a village on the outskirts of Chester was closed while firefighters dealt with an emergency.

One fire crew from Chester attended the scene in Station Lane, Great Barrow at about 12.30pm today (Tuesday, April 9).

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "A car was stranded in floodwater.

"Firefighters moved the car to dry land and assisted the driver from the vehicle.

"The road was closed while the incident was dealt with."
