A FLOOD alert for parts of Chester remains in place amid concerns of spray overtopping on the coast tomorrow, Tuesday.

This Flood Alert has been issued due to the possibility of spray overtopping on the coast tomorrow, 09/04/2024.

Flooding is possible at low lying land and roads around the Dee Estuary from 12:30 PM tomorrow (April 9).

No flooding to property is expected.

A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said: "We are expecting higher than normal tides over the next 2 days and as a result we may issue further alerts.

"Our incident rooms are on standby and we are closely monitoring the situation.

We are liaising with emergency services and local authorities.

"Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous."

Areas at risk include Parkgate, Neston and Puddington, continuing to Blacon and Saltney, Chester.
