A HOLIDAY letting business near Chester has welcomed a new member of the team.

Catch the Breeze Retreats, based in Clotton, has appointed Sam Honour as PA to the Sykes family, and property management assistant.

Sam, who lives in Tarporley brings a wealth of experiences to the role and said: “I’m thrilled to work for such a welcoming company.

"Catch The Breeze Retreats  is unique in its personable hands on-approach, its style, its properties, and its people, and I am very much looking forward to embracing this opportunity.”

Led by Clive Sykes, Catch The Breeze Retreats is a luxurious self-catering company with properties ranging from the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, to stunning sea-views of the Northumberland Coast.

Sleeping up to 16 guests, and some dog friendly, the properties are well-positioned to host family/friend celebrations.

Sam started her career as a medical secretary in the private sector before jetting off as part of long-haul cabin crew for Japan Airlines, and short-haul cabin crew for British Airways.

More recently she worked for a small independent holiday cottage company in north Wales, managing guest and owner relations, liaising with trades, troubleshooting and being very hands-on to overcome any challenges, before working on a larger scale for Sykes Holiday Cottages.

Sam said: “I feel like Catch The Breeze Retreats offers me the best of both worlds; I get to work day-to-day with guests and all of the brilliant suppliers we have, as well as be involved in exciting future projects that are lined up.”

Sam has visited each of the properties within the collection and has summarised them as follows:

Rock Lobster – “has a family holiday feel, a beach life vibe, and fun water sport opportunities.”

Harbourway – “is the family get-together house, exudes comfort and perfect for family gatherings, especially around that fabulous dining room table with a view, or winter warmer around the fire or taking in the sun on the beautiful terraces. The glass extension is just delightful all year round, sit back and read a book.”

Driftwood – “don’t be deceived by its size, this property packs a punch.  It has everything the larger properties has and more, it’s great if just the two of you and your four-legged friend want a cheeky break by the coast.”

Middlerigg – “Wow, what a position, you can immerse yourself in harbour life, watch the delights the sky brings in, whether it’s stormy weather or glorious blue sunny skies and all from the comfort of your armchair, it doesn’t get any better than that.”

Craster Reach – “Nestled in the village, again this is a property that is so deceiving in size, it is a Tardis. It boasts the most amazing view from the top floor bedroom, you’ll find it difficult to drag yourself away.”

Oughtershaw Hall -  “The pictures for Oughtershaw Hall are stunning, but this is a property you must immerse yourself in, to experience the setting and Hall, and the remarkable history that has gone before you, it really arouses your curiosity,  I have been absolutely blown away on every occasion I have visited. “

Sam cadded: “We have a couple of new projects, and, along with the team, I’m very excited to be involved in bringing them to fruition, some for this year and some for 2025, so watch this space.”

Clive Sykes, founder and owner of Catch The Breeze Retreats, said: “On behalf of the team and our guests, we’re delighted to welcome Sam.

"She brings a multitude of experiences and new ideas with her, and we can’t wait to get her involved in all the projects we have planned over the next 12 -18 months. Bookings have exceeded our expectations for 2024, with Rock Lobster already over 90% occupancy, and we’re excited to be taking 2025 bookings too!”
