A NORTHWICH care home is celebrating after it was named among the North West's top 20 thanks to its residents and their families.

Acorn Meadow, run by HC-One, was recognised in the annual Care Home Awards, held by carehome.co.uk, a care home directory and comparison website.

The awards, split into UK regions, are based on individual review scores scores received from residents, relatives and friends.

The Lostock Gralam care home received an overall rating of 10/10 for its high standards of care, based on independent reviews.

Steve McCarthy, Acorn Meadow's home manager, said: "Our residents and their families, friends and loved ones are always at the heart of everything we do at Acorn Meadow.

"It means the world to know they recognise the dedication and kind care of the whole team – as reflected in their independent reviews on carehome.co.uk and our position as a top 20 care home in the North West.”

The 48-bed home, which provides residential dementia services for the community, also received a 'Good' rating in all categories in its latest CQC report from February 2022.

Acorn Meadow was refurbished in 2022, which included redecoration of communal lounges and dining rooms to create a space to be enjoyed by all residents.

HC-One’s area director, Rob Wheatley, said: “I am delighted Acorn Meadow has been announced as a winner of the carehome.co.uk top 20 award 2024 in the North West, based on independent reviews by those using our services over the past year.

"This is an amazing achievement, which reaffirms our mission to be the first-choice care home for residents, their loved ones and our Colleagues in each of the communities we serve."
