There will be several road closures in place on the A55 this week that are set to cause disruptions across North Wales.

These closures come as a result of ongoing maintenance and expansion works set to be carried out during the week.

There are set to be several closures in place on the A55 (at the time of publication) located in Flintshire, Chester and Gwynedd.

These are the sections of the A55 that will experience road closures this week (March 25 to 31), according to Traffic Wales.

A55, both directions - Junction 7a to Britannia Bridge: There will be lane closures in both directions on the A55 between Junction 7a (Star) and the Britannia Bridge all this week due to expansion works. 

These closures have been ongoing since March 10 and will continue until April 12. 

They will be in place each night from 6pm until 6am.

Traffic Wales advises motorists to allow for "additional travel time" when passing through the area.

A55, westbound - Junction 34: The offslip road westbound from the A55 at junction 34 (Ewloe Loop) will be closed as part of ongoing maintenance work.

These works have been ongoing since January but are set to conclude on Friday (March 29).

These road closures will be in places each night (until Friday) from 7pm until 6am.

Local diversions will be in place (all diversions can be found on the Traffic Wales website).

A55, eastbound - Junctions 34 to 38: The A55 will be closed eastbound between junctions 34 (Ewloe Loop) and 38 (Chester) until Sunday (March 31) due to maintenance work.

These closures will take place each day between 7pm and 7am and there will be local diversion in place.

These works have been ongoing since February.
