THREE fire crews were called to an incident near Chester Cathedral this morning (Monday, March 25).
Crews from Chester and Ellesmere Port attended the scene at around 8am.
The fire, which had started in the cellar of a building on Abbey Square, was extinguished using a dry powder hose reel.
The premises was heavily smoke logged, so crews used high-pressure fans to clear the building.
The incident has now been handed over to the heritage team.
