JD SPORTS is set to move into a 'significantly larger' Flintshire site this coming weekend.

The major sports chain is set to remain within the Broughton Shopping Park offerings - but is moving to an even bigger site.

It will be moving from its current location at Unit 4A to Unit 2B, which spreads over an impressive 9,007 square feet.

That means the new store offers an 85% increase in trading space compared to the current JD outlet at Broughton.

Customers can get a first glimpse of the new location when it launches this Saturday (March 23) from 9am.

It will stock the latest ‘fits, trainers and accessories for men, women and kids from all your favourite brands like Under Armour, Montirex, Technicals and more.

The new JD Sports store will also create 15 new job opportunities for the local area.

In-store DJ's will keep guests entertained throughout the opening day and there will even be opportunities to win vouchers via games on the day too.

Speaking of the opening, James Air, Director – Head of Group Acquisitions at JD, said: “Broughton Shopping Park has been an extremely popular location for our customers ever since it first opened, and we are delighted to now be creating a brand new, larger store in partnership with our landlord, British Land.

“Our newly relocated store will be significantly larger than before and we are confident it will be more popular than ever.”

Once open, trading hours will be: 9am-8pm (Mon-Fri), 9am-7pm (Sat), 11am-5pm (Sun).

The current JD Sports at Broughton Shopping Park opened back in January 2017.
