A world-leading neurologist has joined a veterinary hospital on the outskirts of Chester to care for pets in the North West.

Rocio Orlandi will work within the neurology department at ChesterGates Veterinary Specialists to treat animals with a wide range of conditions including epilepsy, brain tumours, spinal conditions, and infectious diseases of the nervous system.

Born in Bilbao, Spain, Rocio brings with her not only a wealth of knowledge – with a career that has taken her all over the world both practising and lecturing in veterinary neurology, but also a deep passion for the animals she treats.

She said: “For me, all cases are special. Each individual dog and cat that I have treated over the years occupies a little portion of my memory, and they will stay there forever."

The ChesterGates veterinary hospital has a team of four neurology specialists. It houses cutting-edge diagnostic equipment, along with multiple state-of-the-art operating theatres to treat cats, dogs and other small companion animals.

Rocio added: “I’m thrilled to join such a friendly and professional team here at ChesterGates. The compassion and a commitment to providing the very highest levels of care runs through every clinician and across every discipline here – and I’m really looking forward to working in such a collaborative environment to treat animal patients from all over the North West.”
