A 46-YEAR-old man died after being struck by a train on the line between two Cheshire towns.

Officers from British Transport Police, paramedics from North West Ambulance Service and crews from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident near Hough Green Rail Station, between Warrington and Widnes, on March 10,

John O’Neill, from Manchester, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

On Wednesday, an inquest was formally opened into Mr O’Neill’s death at Warrington Coroner’s Court.
