A new wine and cocktail bar is planned to take one of the few remaining spots at Chester's Northgate Development.
Popina Chester Limited has submitted a licensing application to Cheshire West and Chester Council for the vacant unit near the newly opened Picturehouse cinema in Exchange Square.
The applicants say Popina will be an "upmarket wine/cocktail bar", serving charcuterie and small plates in a Mediterranean decor.
There would be "chilled out background music and a live DJ playing similar music on a Friday and Saturday evening".
Maximum opening hours proposed are 11am-midnight on Mondays-Thursdays and Sundays, and 11am-1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Also due to open soon at the Northgate Development is the much-delayed Turtle Bay restaurant, which is still listed to open in 2024.
