A Chester man who breached his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and took an indecent photo of a child has been jailed.
Louis McLean (also known as Lewis McLean), 23, of Catherine Street, previously pleaded guilty to a total of four offences.
They were that between August 11, 2023 and September 27, 2023, he possessed a total of 16 indecent images of a child.
Of those, McLean admitted obtaining 15 indecent images of a child, which were analysed and assessed as category C images.
McLean also took one indecent image which was assessed as category A, the most serious category.
He was also in breach of his existing SHPO by having a VPN, or virtual private network, installed on his phone, disguising his activity.
Previously, McLean had been handed a seven-year SHPO and received a suspended prison sentence in 2022 for obtaining indecent images of children.
That suspended sentence was activated and added to McLean's sentence for the new offences, making a total jail term of 39 months.
While McLean was previously ordered to be on the sex offenders register for seven years, now he will be on there indefinitely.
