CHESHIRE Police are appealing for information after a road rage incident took place in Ellesmere Port over the weekend.
Officers responded to reports of a road traffic incident in which a white van was reported to have been deliberately driven at a cyclist.
The incident is reported to have happened on Marlborough Road at around 1.12pm on Friday, March 15.
Following the collision, the driver of the van exited the vehicle and assaulted the cyclist.
The cyclist suffered serious injuries to his leg and hip.
A 35-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and failing to stop after a road accident. He has been released on conditional bail.
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for any witnesses or those with doorbell/dashcam/footage to come forward.
DC Alex Clephan said: "As part of our investigation, we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened during the incident.
"The same goes for anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage which may aid our enquiries.
