CREATIVE photographers are challenged to capture a special picture to celebrate ‘what makes Cheshire great’.

Visit Cheshire has launched a competition ahead of Cheshire Day on Saturday, March 30.

This is the date the county was granted its Charter of Liberties in 1300 by King Edward I.

A spokesman for Visit Cheshire said: “This year, Visit Cheshire, the county’s local tourist board, is calling on residents to submit their favourite photos of the county to showcase what makes Cheshire special to them – be it something unique to the county or Cheshire’s finest view.”

Whether the lens focuses on the stunning parkland of Tatton Park, the riot of spring flowers at Dunham Massey, the Sci-Fi wonder of Jodrell Bank, or the landmarks of Chester, there are countless sides of Cheshire to show.

Budding photographers and amateurs are invited to share their favourite photos, by loading them up to the Cheshire Day website cheshireday.co.uk as well as by tagging them on social media with the hashtag, #cheshireday.

While entrants are encouraged to submit their images up until Cheshire Day itself, those who upload their photographs by March 25 will be entered into a prize draw to win the ultimate family Cheshire experience.

The winner, picked on March 26, will win family entry to the Ice Cream Farm, a river cruise with Chester Boat, an overnight stay in the Moxy Chester and a meal at the Artezzan Restaurant & Bar.
