A SUPERMARKET in Chester will be starting a community initiative helping people from the area who may feel isolated to meet up, chat and socialise.

Waitrose Chester in Boughton will begin their series of ‘Community Café’ sessions this month from 4pm to 5pm on March 28 at the store’s café.

Following successful trials last year, the John Lewis Partnership has now rolled out their Community Café’s initiative across all John Lewis & Waitrose stores that have a hospitality space, to help bring people together in their local area.

The sessions will be held once a month and are a chance for people to meet others in the community or catch up with old friends and everyone is welcome to attend.

Community Matters Lead for Waitrose Chester, Lorna Boden said: “Maybe you live alone, work from home, are far away from family, or just feel a little isolated.

“Having a chat is proven to brighten people’s days, so why don’t you pop along and say hello!”

There will also be a friendly host on site to greet attendees and help those who may find meeting a whole new group of people daunting.
