TWO flood alerts remain in place across Chester, Neston and Ellesmere Port after first being issued ahead of a high tide forecast yesterday.
The Environment Agency say that flooding is possible at low lying land and roads around the Dee Estuary from 12.45pm today (Tuesday, March 12).
Areas at risk include Parkgate, Neston and Puddington, Blacon and Saltney, and Chester.
The Groves are still expected to bear the brunt of any flooding, with no properties likely to be affected.
Residents are advised to be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.
The high tides are forecast to continue for the next two days.
The second alert, affecting Ellesmere Port as a result of high tides on the Mersey Estuary, also remains in place.
Low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses are likely to be affected and residents in the area are reminded not to attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
Further updates are expected this afternoon from 6pm, or earlier if the situation changes.
