A NEW bar in a Cheshire West town centre has enjoyed a promising start to life.

Lounge Afrique Cheshire opened on Witton Street, Northwich, last month, bringing a burst of fresh energy to the premises most recently home to Revival.

And there are more exciting developments to come, with the opening of the restaurant expected soon.

Owner Samuel Yeboah said: “The feedback we have received from everyone since we opened has been amazing.

“Everyone is just loving the atmosphere and good feelings you get from Lounge Afrique.

“I want to thank everybody who has supported Lounge Afrique Cheshire so far.

“Keep your eyes peeled for all our upcoming events and the restaurant opening date.”

The original Lounge Afrique opened in Middlesborough in January last year.

The venue’s early success prompted Samuel to bring his business plan over to Cheshire.

It has taken over a property which has changed many times in recent years, having been known as Cheshire Bar and Grill, Zitano, Tiano’s, Vita Bella and then Stateside, before Revival.

Despite this history, Samuel is confident Lounge Afrique is here for the long run.

He said: "Middlesbrough definitely ignited a spark in me off its success that Cheshire needed a new venue to party with great music and good energy.

"Lounge Afrique is here to stay. We have big and exciting plans for the venue, from bottomless brunches to summer barbecue parties.

"We want to bring the feeling of sunshine culture and happiness to Cheshire. We plan on being a place for all to enjoy.”

Lounge Afrique held a launch on Saturday, February 17, drawing in punters from around Cheshire and Greater Manchester.

Free drinks and food tasters were on offer, complementing the Afrobeats, dancehall and reggae tunes courtesy of DJ Blaze.

Looking ahead, Lounge Afrique is planning to host a range of events, starting this Saturday with a celebration of Ghana’s Independence Day.

A restaurant is expected to launch soon, although no date has yet been confirmed.

Staff are currently 'working around the clock' preparing the kitchen which will boast authentic chefs creating the tastes of West Africa.

Samuel said: “Not too long now to wait until the tastes of perfect jollof rice and jerk wings make their debut in Northwich.”
