Plans have been lodged to revamp Chester Beer and Wine in Handbridge into a bigger premises.
The popular venue, located near Edgar's Field Park just south of the Old Dee Bridge, has been offering a wide range of liquid refreshments to visitors since it opened there in 2018, having previously enjoyed 13 years in Hoole.
The venue sells beers, wines, spirits, ciders and soft drinks, as well as hosting tasting evenings and other meet-ups.
Now the premises is seeking permission for a refurbishment which would see the business continue to occupy its present location but also expand into a now-empty adjacent unit, formerly occupied by CLS Estates prior to that business being acquired by Cavendish Rentals last year.
In plans submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council's planning portal, applicant Samantha Jackson said the plans would also see the installation of a new shop frontage and windows on the front.
Once complete, it is envisaged the business – already home to a wine bar and tasting room – would employ an extra full-time and five part-time members of staff.
The plans will be decided by the local authority at a later date.
