POLICE are investigating a fire at a former restaurant in Ellesmere Port.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said the incident occurred at an old restaurant building on Flatt Lane in Ellesmere Port on Saturday evening.
Two fire engines were called to tackle the blaze shortly before 7pm. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel water jet to extinguish a fire involving the roof space of an outbuilding measuring approximately 30 square metres.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A thorough check of the main building was carried out and there were no signs of it having spread.
"Crews were at the scene for more than three hours and the building was re-secured.
"Anyone with information about how the fire may have started should call Cheshire Police on 101."
