THE asking price for an independent pub and restaurant in Cheshire has been reduced.

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co are overseeing the sale of The Poachers Inn in Bollington.

This popular local inn is situated at the edge of the village, which was voted the best place to live in the North West by the Sunday Times in 2020.

Given its proximity to the Peak District National Park, the inn is a common pitstop for the many passing cyclists and hikers.

Featuring a main pub and restaurant area, as well as a charming beer garden, the pub offers an extensive range of traditional cask and local ales, alongside a seasonal, freshly prepared food menu.

The property is well known for its window boxes and hanging baskets and has won the "Bollington in Bloom" awards three times.

Chester and District Standard:

The Poachers Inn has been owned and operated by Rob and Helen Ellwood for the last 24 years, who are now looking to retire.

They said: “Living in such a wonderful area with an amazing supportive community has made it a pleasure to call The Poachers home for the last 24 years.

"However, we now feel it’s time to move on and allow the business to continue to thrive under new ownership.”

Keith Stringer, director at Christie & Co, who is handling the sale, said: “This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a popular business in an affluent North West village.

"A new operator could take full advantage by increasing the current opening hours with the possibility of converting the upper floor accommodation into five en suite lettings rooms, subject to planning.”

The Poachers Inn is available on a freehold basis for the reduced price of £795,000.
