A SPECIALIST unit from Cheshire Police is set to feature in a new ITV programme this evening (Thursday, February 22).

The latest episode of ‘Laura Whitmore Investigates’ will delve into the world of cyber stalking with expert insight from the force’s Harm Reduction Unit (HRU).

Cyber stalking is classed as the use of social networking sites, email, chat rooms and other forums facilitated by technology to locate personal information about a victim, to communicate with the victim or as a means of surveillance of the victim.

Cheshire Police said via social media: “Our Harm Reduction Unit (HRU) feature on ITV2 tonight at 9pm in 'Laura Whitmore Investigates' - with this episode shining a light on cyber-stalking.

“Our HRU is a specialist unit that works together with partners like mental health professionals, probation officers and crucially with specialist victims' advocates, to ensure a victim's voice is kept at the forefront of an investigation.”

The third episode in the series, previous episodes have seen investigations into rough sex and incel culture and can be found on ITVX.

The new episode will debut on ITV2 tonight at 9pm.
